Lester Ray Miller III is associate professor of music and director of celebration
singers at York University. Lester is excited to help prepare and encourage future
professional musicians through teaching Music Theory, Literature, Technology, Conducting,
World Music and Methods.
Lester is an active choral and show choir arranger, clinician, and adjudicator. Prior
to arriving at YU Lester was formally the Director of Choral Activities at Ankeny
Centennial High School in Ankeny, IA. While at Centennial High School, Lester oversaw
the growth of the brand new program into one of the largest and most successful choir
programs in the country with over 420 participants in 10 curricular and co-curricular
ensembles. Lester's choirs have won numerous Best Vocals, Best Choreography, Best
Band, and Grand Champion awards in regional and national competitions.
Most importantly Lester is the husband to Pamela and dad to Madelynn and Audrey.
