With a theme centered on empowering all who walk alongside young people in faith—families, youth ministers, church leaders, and elders—this year’s workshop seeks to encourage intergenerational collaboration and provide practical tools for nurturing faith in the next generation.
The Center is honored to welcome Dr. Dudley Chancey as the keynote speaker. A leading voice in youth and family ministry, Dr. Chancey brings a wealth of experience, including 25 years in youth ministry and 25 years training others in the field. He holds a PhD in Family Studies Research from the University of Tennessee and is best known as the co-founder and director of Winterfest, a youth event that hosts thousands of teens annually in three different locations.
In addition to his work with Winterfest, Dr. Chancey is the founder of the Intergenerational Faith Center and a member of several national organizations, including the National Council on Family Relations, the Groves Conference on Marriage and Family, and the National Children’s and Youth Ministries Conference.
“This event is about more than youth ministry programs—it’s about whole-church engagement,” said Dr. Anessa Westbrook, Co-Executive Director of the Center for Ministry. “We want every participant to leave feeling better equipped to guide, mentor, and walk alongside the young people in their congregations.”
Intern Fair to Be Held Concurrently
In addition to the workshop, York University will host an Intern Fair from 10:30 - 12:00 pm, connecting students interested in ministry and service with churches and organizations seeking interns. This is a complementary opportunity for ministries to share their mission and explore potential partnerships with emerging leaders.
Those interested in hosting a table at the Intern Fair can contact Dr. Anessa Westbrook
