There's no shortage of ways to get involved, connect and have fun at YU. Student Activities provide students with weekly opportunities to engage in the campus community. Whether you're interested in giving back to the community, pursuing a passion or simply meeting people with similar interests, it's easy to find exciting activities and events around campus.
Student Activities Board (SAB)
Want to plan the fun? Join SAB and become a part of an advisory group of students who work closely with the Director of Student Activities to plan, promote and facilitate weekly activities for students. This group is selected and overseen by the Director of Student Activities, Graham Marks.

New student orientation is four days full of meeting fellow students, engaging with faculty and staff, familiarizing with campus, as well as participating in programs designed to immerse students in the community of York University. At then at end of Genesis we kick the school year off with a campus wide Block Party on Kiplinger Ave.
There's no better way to kick-off the fall season that a visit to Wessel's Living History Farm for some pumpkin painting and hay rides. An event hosted by the Student Activities Board where flannels and boots tend to be the dress code and students are guaranteed to enjoy the famous midwestern combo of chili & cinnamon rolls.
Homecoming isn’t just a time when alumni and prospective students descend on campus for a weekend of special events. Students are right in the middle of the action. More than just the royalty crowing, Homecoming at York University holds several activities, including:
- Syncfest (Lip-sync Contest)
- Athletic Events
- Choir Concert Performance
- Fall Theatre Production
- Special chapel service
- Crowning of Homecoming King and Queen
Hosted by the Admissions Team and S.A.B., Syncfest is an event you won't forget. Groups battle in an epic lip-sync competition to bring home a cash prize.
Each year, York's social clubs and many other students come together to put on a musical variety show with choreography, singing, parody and friendly competition. You won't want to miss out on one of the most exciting events of the year!
A night spent celebrating the end of the year as a community. The student body gathers with faculty and staff for a night of reflection, awards, great food, and fellowship.
