C. Mark Miller has served as Chair of York University's Department of Mathematics
since 2006 and actively works to educate, advise, and transform students in York University's
Mathematics, Secondary Math Education, and dual-degree Engineering Programs. He mainly
teaches upper-division mathematics for STEM majors. Since 2007 he has been a grader
for the AP Statistics exam.
Outside the classroom, Miller is the vice-president of the York County Historical
Association, he teaches Bible and performs other duties at various Christian camps,
and has served as an elder at the East Hill church of Christ since 2014.
Three Bible passages that have impacted Miller's walk with Christ are:
Psalms 115:3 "Our God is in heaven and does whatever he pleases".
Romans 12:1-2a "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer
your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual
act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind."
Colossians 3:12-13a "Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on
compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, bearing with one another
and forgiving one another if anyone has a grievance against another."
