Endowed Scholarships

Endowed Scholarships underwrite awards for students each year, making the York Experience far more accessible. Priority is given to those could not attend York University without scholarship fund assistance.

Funding a named endowment - A gift of $50,000 will establish a new, named endowed scholarship. Donors may include restrictions for the award such as financial need, academic achievement, academic major, co-curricular activities, future plans among others. Advancement staff will work with you to assure the award is viable and can be consistently matched with a student. Annual reports provide benefactors updates on endowment growth and student recipients.

Gifts for endowment, including the general scholarship fund, may be donated at any time in any amount.

For more information about establishing an endowment, contact the York University advancement office at develop@york.edu.

For many, the best way to fund an endowment is through an estate gift. Learn about planned giving tools that can help you create your own legacy at York University while providing for those you love at yorklegacy.org.
