The Department of Bible and Ministry is pleased to announce the 2025 Equip Conference hosted by York University. The third annual Equip Conference will be a two-day event taking place on March 17-18.

 

Jovan Barrington, senior minister at Littleton Church of Christ, will provide the keynote address entitled “Churches on Mission.” Dr. Doug Peters, executive director at Heritage 21, will offer five sessions titled, “Mission Possible!: What in the World is God Doing?” Leonard Allen, dean of the College of Bible and Ministry at Lipscomb University, will teach five sessions titled, “Churches of Christ: Past and Present–with a Glimpse at the Future.” Kevin Knight and Nathan McBroom will offer four youth ministry workshop breakout sessions. 

 

The 2025 Equip Conference will also feature the first ever Clayton Apologetics Lecture. This lecture will be delivered by Dr. Alison
Hawanchak on how we can think about the violence in the Old Testament.

 

Bruce Bates, executive director of Kairos Church Planting, will host two optional breakout lunches on how to start a church planting movement in America.

 

There will be a number of other speakers covering a range of topics including connecting to your community, ministering to children, evangelism, leading by preaching, small groups, discipleship, and church missions. Speakers include Tiffany Baum, Ethan Bilbrey, Justus Coppinger, Bryan Fojtasek, Shayna Franson, Alison Hawanchak, Jason Hawkins, Glenn Hawley, Scott Laird, and Matthew Morine.

 

On Monday evening, the Department of Bible and Ministry is hosting a dinner at Chances “R” Restaurant which all conference attendees are invited to attend. Following that, the Equip Conference will feature a student-led concert and other evening entertainment options. On Tuesday evening, the conference will conclude with the annual Ides of March dinner hosted by the Clayton Museum of Ancient History. Dr. Alison Hawanchak will give this year’s Ides of March lecture titled "Swords, Tent Pegs, and Spirit: Weapons of War in the Book of Judges.” You won’t want to miss this two-day event at York University!

 

The registration fee for the conference is $50, and the cost of the Ides of March dinner is $30.
