Endowed Scholarships

Endowed scholarships enable you to create an ongoing investment in the university. They also introduce a more personal element, as they can carry a family name or can be named in honor or memory of a beloved faculty member, and they benefit specific students.

Bequests

Charitable bequest can either be a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of the total estate or a percentage of the residual estate. Leaving a charitable bequest to YU is a special way to leave a legacy for future generations.

IRA Charitable Rollover

Give using the IRA charitable rollover. For anyone 70 ½ years and older, this is often the best, most convenient option to avoid tax while giving.

Securities

In addition to providing a significant gift, donating long-term appreciated securities enables you to avoid potential capital gain taxes and receive a charitable income tax deduction. Give securities, real estate or other non-cash donations.

Donor Advised Fund

If you have set up a donor advised fund (DAF), this is another option for giving to York University. Contact us if you need any additional information to recommend a gift for York University from your DAF.

Memorial & Honor Gifts

Memorial or honor gifts should include the name of the person you are recognizing along with the name and address of those to be notified. This information may be included on the available gift form. Memorial and honor gifts are listed annually in the summer edition of YU's Heritage magazine.
